Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle beach, South Carolina. Later she was a morning-news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD TV. The stories she reported in Charleston about the police's leniency when it comes to DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to examine. This led to the state government imposing more stringent regulations in these cases. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell by awarding her the Best Report of the Years award in the entirety of South Carolina Media. In the years following her stint in Charleston O'Dell served as anchor and investigative reporter at NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to joining Access Hollywood as a weekend co-anchor and weekday correspondent.
